Calling all designers, business executives, nonprofit leaders, and entrepreneurs! Maria Giudice, CEO (DEO, really) and Founder of Hot Studio, will be speaking at AIGA's Gain Conference Wednesday, October 10th. And, to start off the day, Sarah Brooks—Director of Social Innovation at Hot—will be hosting a breakfast roundtable Wednesday morning at 7:45 a.m.

A DEO, or Design Executive Officer, is a combination of a strategic business executive and a creative problem solver. They see themselves as catalysts for transformation and as agents of cultural change. With this perspective and these abilities, the DEO looks at business problems as design problems, solvable through the right mix of imagination and metrics. In the ever-increasingly complex and globally connected world, creativity has become the number one driver of economic growth.

Design and designers have moved from being seen as simply makers of artifacts to central players in innovative organizations. Design is the connective tissue to a new way of thinking and a new way of working in today's world. Although a recent survey of 1500 CEOs cites creativity as the most important leadership quality of the future, other recent studies identify perceptions of creative leaders as less likely to be thought of as strong leaders. WTF? Calling all you creative people! Your time is now to reshape the future and help make an impact at a global scale.
