Hot Partners with Kno on a Revolutionary Learning Device

Hot Studio is pleased to announce our pivotal role in the development of the visual user interface for Kno, a unique two-panel, touch-screen device created for students. The Kno combines all of the key tools and services required for an effective and engaging studying experience, including textbooks, study-aids, course materials, notepad, web access, educational applications, digital media, textbook shopping, and a vast library of third-party applications. Kno officially launched at the D8 Conference. (You can read more about that here.)

Over the course of eight months, we collaborated with Kno’s user experience team to craft a powerful yet intuitive touchscreen experience, one supported by groundbreaking educational software. You can read more about what we did here.

“Kno presented us with an ambitious challenge,” said Hot Founder and CEO Maria Giudice. The project was funded by Andreessen Horowitz, First Round Capital, Maples, and Ron Conway, and was in stealth mode for more than a year. “We had to deliver results meeting the high standards of Kno, Inc. and its world-class management team. As partners and collaborators, we proudly met that challenge.”

Our collaboration even went beyond our work for the device. We helped Kno build and design a product-support microsite. A full site release is scheduled for the fall.
