It's That Time of the Year Again...

Time to get your schedules in order and prep for early bird registration to all your favorite spring conferences. And instead of featuring the obvious ones, I thought I'd spread the word on a few other conferences that my fellow Hotties are looking into.

To start things off and get you in the mood, check out User Research Friday on November 19th. Taking the theme, "Vendor Circus," this is a full-day conference looking into user research and more specifically the swarm of apps and services that have popped up over the last year. With a prime lineup, it looks to be a great event. They're counting down the days and it looks like there only a few in-person spots left. Not to worry though, if you aren't in the area, they do have remote seating for only $100.

Next up is Strata, a new conference from O’Reilly Media, focusing on the business and practice of data, happening February 1-3, 2011 in Santa Clara.

Unprecedented computing power and connectivity are bringing new layers of experience to our lives: a change that brings both opportunity and the challenge of new technologies and skills. The future belongs to those who understand how to collect and use their data successfully.

Looks like they will be covering key topics like real-time data processing and analytics, visualization and design principles, and the changing roles of business intelligence, just to name a few. Early bird pricing ends December 14.

Last, but not least is the Game Developer Conference. GDC returns to San Francisco February 28- March 4, 2011. An awesome event for anyone interested in working on console interface design, games, the business of gaming, mobile and social. Early bird registration doesn't end until January, so you have some time to keep an eye on updates on for speakers and keynotes.
