Nokia Introduces a New Typeface

After many years and millions of devices shipped with Nokia Sans, a new typeface arrives from the Fins. This is certainly an acknowledgement that the time has come to retire the old “techy” font.

What’s perhaps more interesting, however, is the alignment with Microsoft. Nokia is going to be a major distributor of Windows Phone 7 devices and it’s been noted that for this design system, “typography makes the interface.“ What happens when the default Myriad face is replaced by Nokia’s Pure?
