SFMOMA Website Honored by the American Association of Museums
The redesign of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art's website, on which Hot Studio collaborated with the museum to create, was singled out for an Honorable Mention at the MUSE Awards, presented April 30 in Philadelphia during the American Association of Museum's annual convention.
The SFMOMA's site, one of four finalists nominated in the Online Presence category, was cited by the judges for having "done a good job in reconstructing their site in its entirety with a nice overall aesthetic and inter-linking features."
"SFMOMA is honored to be recognized by the MUSE Award jurors for our website redesign," said Dana Mitroff Silvers, SFMOMA's head of online services. "We know that redesigns are particularly difficult to judge, and this year was was especially competitive. We are thrilled our site was awarded honorable mention."
Since its launch, the SFMOMA website has been recognized for its excellence, including a 2009 Webby Award nomination for Best Cultural Institution website.
