Symbolizing People and Empowerment Omidyar Network Logomark Design
Omidyar Network is a philanthropic investment firm created by the founder of eBay, Pierre Omidyar, and his wife, Pam. ON creates opportunities for people to improve their lives by investing in market-based efforts that catalyze economic, social, and political change. Hot Studio was asked to design a logomark capturing the company’s essence.
Getting to know the company
ON’s logomark had to communicate its strategic direction and its core beliefs at first glance. To achieve this, Hot needed to intimately understand their business model and the inspiration behind the organization. After in-depth brand workshops, which included brand attribute exercises, mood boards, and mind maps, we created a logomark that captures the strength of the individual as well as the might of networks of people.
Conveying the true power of ON
The new Omidyar Network logomark includes the power symbol as a representation of the work that ON does: empowering people to improve their lives and make lasting contributions to their communities. ON can now better communicate the inspiration behind, and the diversity of, its investments.
