Palm, one of the first players in portable computing, was launching a new product: the Pixi. The Pixi sports a new operating system, webOS, and offers features like improved multitasking and an extended gesture area. It was set to become a welcome addition to the world of smart phones. Hot Studio was asked to design a People.com application for the Pixi.

Replicating a seamless experience on a unique OS
People magazine wanted to create an app with similar functionality to the versions of People.com available on other mobile platforms. We collaborated closely with People’s team and Palm engineers to shape the experience on the app. webOS offered unique functionality that opened up possibilities for both user experience and the visual design.
